MSG Viewer for Outlook produces EML files after converting MSG files. Unfortunately, most web-based email clients do not have a direct way to view or import email that is not already stored on a server.


However, you can import EML files to Gmail, Hotmail, or another Web email client via IMAP.


Here is a basic outline of how to get started:

  • Set up your Gmail account via IMAP in your Mac email client (Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.)
  • Import your converted EML files into your Mac email client -- drag and drop is often sufficient.
  • Select all emails/folder you'd like to migrate, and drag them to your Gmail account.

The process will take some time depending on the amount of messages and folders. After it's done you'll see all your messages/folders in your Gmail account. These instructions are simply a guideline, and there are risks in carrying this out improperly, particularly for larger-sized mailboxes.
